FAQ

Do you offer telehealth or in-person sessions?

I offer both, and both are very effective!

I provide telehealth therapy all over South Carolina. In-person sessions are offered in my office at:

955 West Wade Hampton Blvd. STE 4B Greer, SC 29650

The effectiveness of telehealth, in-person, or even a hybrid of both is fantastic. We will go with whatever offers you the most support and convenience and enables us to meet for your sessions!

How long are therapy sessions?
Your therapy sessions are 55 minutes long.
What is your cancellation policy?
A 48-hour notice to cancel an appointment is required. You will be charged the full session fee if you provide less than a 48-hour notice.
How can therapy help me?

Therapy is a great place to address and work on issues presenting challenges for you. You will have a safe, nonjudgmental place to discuss your concerns, troubles, or challenges.

Through the work you do with yourself in therapy, you will gain insight, clarity, and the capability to make the changes in your life you’re longing for. Therapy can help you improve your relationship with yourself and others.

By learning about yourself and navigating through your therapy process, you will grow and improve every aspect of your life. Improved self-awareness, self-esteem, well-being, and a more fulfilling life are some, but not all, the ways therapy can benefit you.

What types of therapy do you offer?

I offer a variety of evidence-based therapy interventions. I will tailor your therapy to meet you where you are and your specific needs.

Therapy is never a “one size fits all.” You are uniquely you, and the therapy we do together will be uniquely designed and planned for your highest good and progress toward meeting your needs and goals.

Some of the types of therapy I offer are Mindfulness-Based Therapy, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Internal Family Systems Therapy (IFS), Emotionally Focused Therapy, and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy for trauma work. When we meet and move through your healing work, a combination of these modalities will come together to support your therapy journey. You will learn great skills and tools, grow, and improve with these amazing therapy interventions.

I’ve got you on this!

How often will I need to come to therapy?

The frequency of therapy sessions varies depending on your individual needs and goals. Initially, weekly to biweekly sessions are needed to make a great start in your therapy work.

When you get started, we will discuss the therapy frequency for you to make the most progress. We can and will adjust your therapy “speed” as you go. We will work together to find the schedule that works best for you.

Do you take insurance for therapy?
I do not take insurance for therapy, but I provide a Superbill for filing out-of-network. If your insurance plan allows out-of-network providers, you may receive reimbursement for a portion of your session cost. It’s best to check with your insurance provider to determine your coverage specifics.
Why don't you take insurance for therapy?

While I understand that insurance can be a helpful resource for people, I have chosen not to take insurance for several reasons.

First, insurance will often limit the number of sessions and treatment interventions that will be covered, restricting the care I can provide to my clients.

Additionally, insurance companies require extensive paperwork and documentation, which takes away from the time and energy I can give my clients. By operating as a self-pay and out-of-network provider, I can offer you comprehensive client-need-driven therapy.

This care is unique for you and determined by what you truly need, not by what the insurance company dictates. This way, your work is yours for you (and your eyes only), not theirs to manage, plan and oversee.

What form of payment do you accept?
Payment for sessions is by credit or debit card.
Which one, blueberries or blackberries?

BOTH… blueberries and blackberries are great for your mental and emotional health. Blueberries are known for their super high antioxidant content, which can help protect against oxidative stress and inflammation, therefore protective against anxiety and depression (research has shown!). Also, blueberries have been shown to improve cognitive function and overall brain health.

Blackberries are also good for your mental and emotional health. They are super rich in vitamin C, which reduces the symptoms of stress and anxiety. Also, blackberries are high in fiber, which improves digestion. A growing tsunami of research supports the direct correlation between digestion, gut, and mental health.

Eat up all the berries!

Spring or Fall?

Oh, this one may be too hard! Of course, both are exquisitely amazing in their own way.

Spring is often associated with renewal and growth. As the plants bloom, color abounds, and the weather warms. This is a great time to work on your personal growth, renewal, and embracing new beginnings. Additionally, spending time outside in the sunshine can boost your vitamin D and mood and improve your overall well-being!

Fall, on the other hand, is associated with change and transition. As the leaves change and the temperatures cool, it is a great time to reflect on your life’s changes and transitions. Also, Fall is associated with comforting activities like reading, spending time with loved ones, and time in nature, all of which can cultivate feelings of comfort and connectedness.

Savor the seasons, and appreciate them mindfully for the highest benefits!
